The purpose of this article is to dispel the myths, misinformation, and confusion induced largely by members of the media and others who are not too knowledgeable in this field. Part of the problem is that; the onslaught of "Run Your Car on Water" ads all over the internet is misleading. Although this is possible, these ads are referring to electrolyzers/hydrogen boosters which is a fuel saving device. "Supplemental hydrogen" would be a more accurate term. Unfortunately, there are some bogus companies out there but this device is real and it does work. There are many credible sources for information on this; The National Hydrogen Association, the EPA, and the U.S. Dept. of Energy (just to name a few). An electrolyzer/hydrogen booster generates hydrogen and oxygen (hho/Brown's gas) and should not be confused with hydrogen fuel cells which produces electricity and can be used to power an electric car.
The authors of these build-your-own plans all over the internet (in many cases) are not very knowledgeable. There are many factors to consider and the efficiency of the product (and whether or not it works) is going to depend on it. Also, the tools & materials needed to build something, with some quality, can be costly. I have read several articles from supposedly authoritative, professional, intelligent people who were claiming that these devices don't work. After reviewing their test procedures, it came as no surprise to me that they got negative results. Unless you really know what you are doing, you're better off buying a pre-made product from a reputable manufacturer with a guarantee.
The electrolysis (disassociation of water) process occurs when you apply about 2 volts to water but the device simply does not produce enough hydrogen to run a vehicle on it's own but can increase mileage significantly and, with gas prices nowadays, is a big plus. Adding an electrolyte to the water (such as potassium hydroxide) does increase hydrogen production but also increases amperage and generates heat as a result. Also, pulsed dc. is actually more efficient than straight dc. from your car's battery.
A device called an EFIE (electronic fuel injection enhancer) should also be used as this compensates for the added oxygen in your intake. Your oxygen sensors monitors and sends a small voltage to your car's computer telling it whether your a/f ratio is too rich or too lean. The EFIE sends a floating voltage on top of this telling your car's computer that your a/f ratio is too rich and subsequently cuts back on the gas to your fuel injector.
Hydrogen has a lower ignition rate than gasoline which means that it ignites at a lower temperature so it is quite easy to burn hydrogen in a combustion engine. However, hydrogen also has a lower density rate than gasoline which means that it takes a lot of it to run a vehicle. Running a vehicle without gasoline (such as what Stan Meyer did) involves changing the state of the hydrogen to a higher energy state because of its low density. This involves some physics which I will not get into here.
Article Summary: Whether you call them electrolyzers or hydrogen boosters, the bottom line is that these devices do work and improving mileage is a step in the right direction. There are several benefits to burning supplemental hydrogen; it burns cleaner than gasoline alone and helps clean carbon deposits out of your engine. The result is more horsepower, fewer emissions, and obviously, spending less money on gas and LESS DEMAND = LOWER PRICES at the pump. I, personally, have had an electrolyzer in my car for the last 18 months and have been very pleased with the results.

Is it possible for a vehicle to run on water alone? The truth is, no! The vehicle will still need gasoline to run but by changing a few parts, the technology of water and fuel mixture will produce a very low cost hydrogen run hybrid vehicle. The process of changing your vehicle around to run on water is virtually safe to use. The amount of danger is minimal. It would be more of a hazard to change the oil in your vehicle than to use this process. Make sure to keep open flames away from the HHO gas or try to light the Hydrogen. This is not a great idea to begin with! You will not like the results when it does ignite if you are still around to see it. This process makes the vehicle run in a safer way than without it. The mix of the fuel produces less combustible gas than it did before the water was added. The addition of new components to run water through will also not harm the engine in any way. The fuel burn will be at cooler temperatures than before causing lower wear on the engine itself. Your vehicle will last longer which means less money out of pocket for a new vehicle or engine repairs.

Owning up to an overall length of only 160.4 inches for the hatchback version and only 166.8 inches for the sedan version, the Daewoo Lanos has been considered to be one of the smallest cars in the business. American demand for CNG (compressed natural gas) or LPG (liquefied natural gas) powered vehicles may not be high currently, in part, because American car companies like Detroit’s General Motors are not actively promoting them to U.S. customers. However, overseas in European and Asian markets, General Motors has quite an interest and prolific production of alternatively fueled vehicles with production continuing through GM’s foreign subsidiary companies. Truthfully, the amount of CNG and LPG filling stations that exist within the fueling infrastructure of the United States would necessitate expansion. While there do exist nearly 1,100 CNG filling stations across the U.S., many are for private or commercial fleets, and a large amount of them are located within California’s borders, so a cross-country trek in a natural gas powered vehicle would currently be out of the question. In Europe, because of the smaller distances to travel, and the more readily available filling stations, natural gas powered automobiles are on the rise.
Most American consumers are not familiar with the popularity of natural gas powered vehicles in Europe and do not realize that the same products could be marketable in the United States as well, with the right promotional help from General Motors and other American motor companies. In addition to producing natural gas fuelled vehicles for European motorists, General Motors is currently working with natural gas distributors and providers to expand and enhance the compressed natural gas infrastructure in Europe. Ethanol can be produced locally and domestically from a large selection of different materials such as corn, grass, sugarcane, and agricultural waste.
As U.S. motor companies like General Motors increase their products’ relationships with natural gas, American companies such as Triple Diamond Energy Corp will undoubtedly be prepared to fill the new fueling needs.

Officials said last Friday that Romania's privatization agency will begin its dialogue with Ford Motor Co., the only bidder in the sale of a former Daewoo car factory in southern Romania.
At an event in Bucharest, Ford's bid was opened but no details of the offer were revealed.
Sebastian Vladescu, who is the deputy Finance, and Economy Minister and head of the privatization committee in charge of the sale, said that it looks like all the documents requested have been submitted at a glance. He added that talks were to begin on Monday with Ford to negotiate on the terms of the sale.
As the only bidder in the sales, Ford confirmed in a press release that it wants to buy the plant. According to John Fleming, Ford of Europe President and CEO, their company offers the best combination of financial, technological and environmental commitments to be able to modernize the Craiova-based plant.
Maker of quality Ford catalytic converter, Ford adheres to the fact that the facility in Craiova is a strategically significant site for the future growth of the company. Ford of Europe produced 1.86 million units at its seven assembly plants in 2006 and additional manufacturing space is required to meet its emulous new product as well as growth plans.
Fleming also said that if they would be successful in their bid, they would expect to expand and improve the Craiova manufacturing operations, augment employment opportunities and attract additional suppliers to the area.
Other two companies - General Motors Corp. and JC Russian - which sent letters of intent to participate in the sale have not submitted bids.
The government has said that price would not be the only factor considered in the sale. It would also consider the ability of the buyers to maximize production and use Romanian-based suppliers.
The privatization agency, which is selling the government's 72 percent stake in the company, will sign a memorandum with several smaller shareholders in order to sell their stakes as well, thus allowing the buyer to take over 95 percent of the stock.
The factory, which was owned by the insolvent Korean company, has nearly 4,000 employees and can produce a maximum of 200,000 cars and 300,000 engines every year.
Last year, Romania paid US$60 million (€44 million) to purchase back a 51-percent stake in the company from Daewoo's creditors.
